Capture the Magic of the Season: Join Our Christmas Mini Sessions 2024!

The most wonderful time of the year is almost here, and we’re excited to announce our Christmas Mini Sessions for November weekends! 🎅🎄These sessions are designed to capture the holiday magic with your loved ones in a way that’s fun, festive, and unforgettable. Here’s everything you need to know to get the most out of these special sessions.

Session Details

Dates & Times: Our Christmas Mini Sessions will be available on the weekends of November and probably also early December depending on the needs. Each session is 25 minutes long with a 5-minute gap in between to ensure we have ample time to prepare for the next family.

Setups Available: There are two setups. You can choose to shoot on either one or both of the setups during your session. If you choose to use both setups, we’ll start with the dark background, making use of the cozy sofa and stool to create beautiful family portraits. After this, we’ll transition to the light and airy setup for a fresh change of pace. Let’s see how these two setups look like:

Classic Dark Background: This setup is ideal for those who love a sophisticated, elegant holiday look. Featuring a rich, dark backdrop with a cozy sofa and accompanying stool, this scene is perfect for creating timeless family portraits. The dark tones will provide a warm, intimate feel, making it a great choice for classic holiday cards.

Light and Airy Setup: For a brighter, more whimsical touch, our light and airy setup offers a fresh, cheerful atmosphere. With soft, pastel hues and delicate holiday accents, this setup is perfect for capturing playful and joyful moments, adding a touch of lightness and joy to your holiday photos.

Holiday Cards Made Easy

Once you have your beautiful photos, the next step is turning them into memorable holiday cards. I highly recommend using mpix.com based on my personal experience. Their platform is user-friendly, and the card creation process is simple and intuitive. Most importantly, the color accuracy of their prints is exceptional, ensuring that your photos look just as vibrant in print as they do on screen. If you’d like to see examples, I’d be happy to show you a few holiday cards I’ve created with them.

Other popular card-making sites I've heard great things about (but haven't personally tried) include:

Many of these sites offer great sales around Thanksgiving, so it’s a perfect opportunity to create your cards early and avoid the last-minute rush of sending out your Christmas wishes.

How to Book a Christmas Mini Session

Booking your Christmas Mini Session is easy! To secure your spot, follow these simple steps:

1. Check Availability & Choose a Time Slot

Christmas Mini Sessions are available on select weekends in November and possibly early December, depending on demand. Each session lasts 25 minutes, with a 5-minute buffer between families. To ensure you get a time that works for you, it's best to book as early as possible.

Here's how to check availability:

  • Online Booking System: We offer an online booking platform via here where you can view available dates and times. Simply choose the day and time that suits your schedule:

  • Direct Contact: If you prefer, you can reach out via email or phone to discuss open slots or adding more slots. Since the sessions are to be held at my own studio, I will try my best to accommodate and make it work for you.

2. Choose Your Setup

During the booking process, you can indicate whether you'd like to use one or both of the available setups. Remember:

  • The Classic Dark Background setup is perfect for an elegant, warm look.

  • The Light and Airy Setup is ideal for those who want a bright, cheerful aesthetic.

  • If you choose to use both setups, we’ll start with the dark background and then move to the light setup during your 25-minute session.

3. Confirm & Pay

When your booking is completed online, you will receive a confirmation email. Please note that Christmas Mini Sessions are non-cancellable; however, you are welcome to transfer or gift your session to family or friends if needed. In rare cases, such as if your children are unwell and unable to attend, I’ll do my best to accommodate a reschedule to the closest available date.

4. Reviewing Photos & Delivery

About three weeks after the session, you’ll receive a link to view and select your favorite images from an online gallery. We aim to deliver your gallery within three weeks. Please remember that you have the option to purchase additional digital images for $200 or prepurchase for only $100. The whole gallery usually includes 20-30 carefully selected and edited images.

How to Prepare for Your Christmas Mini Session

To make the most out of your mini session, a little preparation goes a long way! Here are some tips to help you get ready:

1. Outfit Coordination

Choose your outfits in advance and make sure they complement the holiday theme and setup. Whether you prefer a more formal look or cozy, casual attire, it’s a good idea to coordinate the family’s outfits so that the colors and patterns work well together.

  • For the Classic Dark Background, deep reds, greens, golds, or neutral tones like creams and grays work beautifully.

  • For the Light and Airy Setup, golds, whites and creams will blend perfectly with the bright, cheerful theme. Adding touches of orange or green can bring a vibrant pop of holiday color to the scene.

2. Arrive Early

Please plan to arrive at least 10-15 minutes before your session begins. This will give you time to settle in, make any last-minute adjustments, and get comfortable in the space. Arriving early can also help calm pre-session nerves, especially for little ones! When you arrive, head straight to the waiting area inside and try not to interrupt the session in progress.

As the studio contains various photography equipment and props, please keep a close eye on your children for their safety, just as you would in any other environment. We also kindly ask that you avoid touching the baby clothing and props on the shelf, as they are not intended for play. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated!

3. Bring Props (Optional)

Feel free to bring a few small props to make your photos more personalized. Items like favorite holiday books, small gifts, holiday candies or festive blankets can add a unique touch to your session. Please ask me for permission of use. I will make sure the colors are right for the session.

I can't wait to meet you and capture the joy of the season during your Christmas Mini Session! It’s going to be a fun and festive experience, and I look forward to creating beautiful memories together. See you soon! 🎄📸
